The Thistlemoor is bristling with more than just briars...
Dungeons. Caverns. Tombs that stretch into the deep. All long forgotten after their original overlords and the Tyrant King was dealt with by the rulers of Frytornsbro, now called Fourtower Bridge. Time has long passed and as the Silver River and King’s Road boomed with activity, darkness brewed in the depths. Knaves travelled to explore the dungeons in seek of fortune and fame, but due to the recent peace in the world, city-states and lords began sending expeditions to claim the dungeons as their own and harness them for resources and power.
Now, Dwarves from the North are moving in on the ruins, causing all kinds of disturbances among the inhabitants. Dogs disappear and tradesmen are attacked by gnolls and lizardmen within the Rotforest. Bellowing calls are heard from Stonehell and the dungeons deep.
Fourtower defends itself and its trade, hiring knaves to guard its caravans and deal with its problems. The Moorland Merchant Managers move treasures from the Thistlemoor to the southern kingdoms while bandits and greenkin live off the chaos. Above the clouds, the Elven towers can be seen, watching.
In this fantasy world, Dwarves live in fortresses under the earth, Humans harness beasts and spread on the earth, and the Elves live above the earth in floating towers and galleys. Greenkin are chaotic spawn of dirt and stone. Magic is constant.

ANCESTRY
Human: Materialism. You get one extra inventory slot permanently.
Elfkind: Fey. Pick a level one spell. You can cast without a spellbook. You can switch this spell with any other level one spell. You still need to make a spellcasting check.
Half elf: Meditative sleep. 4 hours are all you need to rest well for a night, plus you do it by sitting up meditating.
Midnight Elf: Shadow walk. Become completely invisible in shadow when still.
Dwarf: Infravision. Your vision extends into the infrared. You detect major differences in heat from far away and more minute differences up close.
Gnome: Gain a Luck Die. With it, you can choose to roll a buff after you roll your d20 check. When you level up, choose to either gain a hit dice or another luck die. Each Luck Dice can only be used once a day.
DAMAGE AND DEATH
When a character takes damage, they receive Wounds equal to the amount of damage received. Whenever a character receives wounds, they roll their Hit Dice (HD), each of these is a d6; if the total result rolled is equal to or lesser than the total Wounds a character has accumulated, they roll again. On a 1-3 they die, on a 4-6 they go unconscious and will die in d3 rounds.
