DOWNTIME
- Uthred trained his Raccoon “Sneaky” with 3 commands (150gp). Grab 100gp, Seek 50gp, and Bite. He supplied his needs with street fights each week (STR save for each week). Only failed one.
- Renji sold a shield for 25gp and bought an alchemy kit (200gp). Created a Crab Spider Poison Oil and a Fire Beetle Bomb. Gambles at the Magpie for 32gp for some food.
Fourtower Bridge
3rd day of the 6th week of Winter. Clear skies. Sunny.
After gambling at the Magpie, Renji and Üthred asked around for rumors about the Ghost Beggar bandits.
- Lorna told them that they've been robbing and killing merchants along the west Kings road.
- Lorna also told them if they need quick coin a man named Smith was asking for some porters for high pay.
- Athalgrim (Black beard, jutted jaw, Warden) will reward 50gp per Ghost Beggar Brigand brought to justice dead or alive. 300gp for the capture of their leader. He is an elf with an eyepatch. Pirate looking fella. Booth Gnast. They wear yellow and black checkered clothing with hoods. Stolen from a shipment of tabbards. Their men are well equipped. Chainmail and swords. Probably recruiting. The Rangers say they like to communicate with eery hoots and wails. Call themselves the Ghost Beggars.
- Frode (human - baldtop with greasy hair, widens eyes a lot, cooky fisherman) claimed to have seen a demon wolf man while he was by the Greenbottle Morass in the past week that had a yellow glow and chainmail armor. “A revenant from your worst nightmare! Chain and blade! with a yellow glow to him now that I think about it...”
They both decided to find Smith and ask him about the job.
They met John Smith (Human - einstein black hair, measured voice, fence) in the Wagon Corral sitting on a stool by a cart filled with lockboxes just visible under a waxed tarp. Two bodyguards in grey and green gambeson with cudgels stood nearby. His. He offered 100gp for the two to deliver a lockbox to a tree by the orchard along the west road if they were interested in something "A little beyond the law."
Üthred and Renji warily accepted.
Before they went out, they hired Nadia and Warrick to join them.
West King's Road
Along the way, Renji tried to open the box but to no avail. He didn't want to break it, so he gave up.
Settled Land
Once they arrived at the tree Smith spoke of, they trapped the area with footfall traps. Renji oiled them with his crab spider poison.
In the distance, they could see two Gnome mercenaries coming to them from the farm.
Venpine (Gnome - Rosy cheeks, “I don’t know…”, chews on pinecones, oiler)
Calsany (Gnome - Nose ring, mopey, sharpshooter)
When questioned, Üthred tried to explain but the gnomes weren't having it. They sent them back to Fourtower for a permit from Athalgrim giving them license to capture the bandits by the farm.
The party went back, aquired a signed letter, and came back directly to the farm that time.
The owner's name was Ben (human - one arm, “hmmmmm”, retired knight) and his daughter Sara Gin (human child - wide eyes, runs everywhere, animal herder). Ben was the employer of the gnomes and agreed with the party for the gnomes to help for a share of the bandit's loot.
That night they watched the tree. Two highwaymen appeared. One fell into a trap and the other was instantly killed by two of the Gnome’s quarrels.
Üthred ran up to question the trapped highwayman. He tells them his group of 6 are back in the woods at an abandoned dugout and begs for antivenom. They don't act fast enough and he died of the poison. In his pouch was a key to the lockbox Smith gave them. Inside it was a marigold concoction and some rations and bandages. The gnomes retrieved a cart for the bodies on Renji's request.

Logging Copse
Following the late highwayman's instructions, they went to the woods by the orchard and found three lean-tos and a dugout with a highwayman sitting watch with a bow. Renji shadowalks up on him and cuts his bow string. The party enveloped the feverish bandits and tied them up. Renji found a unique dagger on one of them and info on the location of the Ghost Beggar’s hideout is questioned out of them.
Star Iron Parry Dagger: Faint biting heat pulses at night from this orange blade.
Parry: +1 to STR melee rolls. You cannot use a shield.
Cursed: Draws your enemy within 1 mile.
Loot
- 5 sets of leather 50gp each
- 2 axes 8gp each
- 4 clubs 7gp each
- 2 Corpse Crawler Eggs 160gp
- 2 Lockboxes (one trapped) 20 and 50
- Marigold Concoction: heals 3 wounds

They took them back in the night by the West King's Road.
West King's Road
Travel action. Encounter. 3 Warden Rangers. Reaction: wary.
3 Warden Rangers rode straight at them led by Moon-Missed (Elf - 16 year old girl, severe). They almost mistook them for the Ghost Beggars but Renji called out and they disclosed their letter that they were authorized by Athalgrim. The Rangers brought them back to Athalgrim where they received their reward.
Fourtower Bridge
They exposed Smith’s job but Athalgrim responded that its their word against Smith's and that they'd need something more substantial.
Athalgrim also told them that he was caught up with the gnolls along the east road, and that he’d appreciate it if they dealt with the rest of the bandits in the meanwhile.
They sold all their loot to the Moorland Merchants and Dagunn was paid to remove a curse from a parry dagger Renji acquired.
Uthred gained another Hit Dice!
DOWNTIME
On the tree where they trapped the highwaymen, Üthred pinned this note...
Üthred’s Tree Note
This is what happens to bandits!
We were given the mission to deliver the cure to the outlaws who have been robbing the farm... But we're not outlaws like you! We spoke to some mercenary gnomes on the farm and hid. We set traps around the box containing the cure. We killed one, interrogated his friend, and to show you how cowardly you all are: he told us where the rest of you were.
They were all brought to justice, imprisoned like animals. They were left with nothing!
This is what happens to outlaws. Don't be next!
